From the banks of Rolep About 20 kms away from Rongli, not even a 30 minutes’ drive, Rolep is a small village at the bank of Shokey-Khola a mighty river, locally known as Rolep, originally Shokey Khola River. Shokey Khola receives its water from Tsomgo and Menmecho Lake. The lush greenery, gushing waterfalls and river, serene village life is enough to rejuvenate your soul especially if you have stayed in the chilly weather of Gnathang or Lungthung in past days of your trip. If your eyes are kind of bored by seeing only snow in the upper slopes of East Sikkim, come down to Rolep, have a pleasant stay in the decent homestays here, enjoy this little warmer, completely soothing climate here. Find your way Rolep is around 132 kms from Siliguri,4.5-5 hours drive, which can be reached easily from New Jalpaiguri (NJP), nearest railway station or Bagdogra, nearest airport. Har Ki Pauri- The famous ghat of Haridwar

About the place: Har-Ki-Pauri is a famous Ghat on the banks of the Ganges in Haridwar in the state ofUttarakhandin India. This revered place is the major landmark of the divine city of Haridwar. It is believed that it is the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains.Har-Ki-Pauri is also the area where thousands of pilgrims converge and the festivities commence during the KumbhaMela, which takes place every twelve years, and the ArdhKumbhMela, which takes place every six. Every day, Har-Ki-Paurighat witnesses hundreds taking a dip in water of the Ganges. The place is considered very auspicious. Over the years the Ghat have undergone major extension and renovation as the crowds increased in subsequent KumbhMelas. Several temples have come up on the steps, most built in late 19th century. Origin of the place: The origins of Haridwar are not easy to establish since the city is almost as old as time itself and dates back to even Pre-Vedic time
