PalsStory_002: Jaigaon-Phuntsholing : The Indo-Bhutan Diplomacy

Jaigaon-Phuntsholing : The Indo-Bhutan Diplomacy
This picture was captured from the Peeple Drangra or the Phuntsholing Viewpoint. This place gives a absolute picturesque beauty of its neighbouring country India. On a clear sunny day, one can expect an exquisite view of the hill gradients, the hustling towns on the Indian province, the idle villages on the bank of the Torsha river.
Phuntsholing is a border town in the Southern part of Bhutan and sharing its border with its Indian counterpart Jaigaon. The India-Bhutan border at Phuntsholing is a junction of two very different peoples and cultures. While Jaigaon on the Indian province is a busy town with a Bengali essence, Phuntsholing on the other side of the Gate is having a traditional Bhutani flavour in its air, and also it is one of the most developed town in Bhutan since it is the gateway of trade with India.
The border is separated by a long gate with the Indian Army on one side and the Bhutan army guards on the other. This place is a popular tourist destination as well since tourists from India, Bangladesh and Maldives do not require any visa to enter Bhutan, but have to show Identity Proofs like Adhar Card,Voter ID Card, etc.
Overall if you want to spend some time in Bhutan, then Phuntsholing will be the perfect hit for you. Go ahead and have a trip to the "Land Of Druk" and we promise that you wont be disappointed.
